Like every other episode of SPLK, this one too was a dose of reality. Rafique sold all the crockery in his house to pay the peer…I can’t help but wonder what would be next! Anjay made sure he ‘introduced’ Rafique to a new drug before the much anticipated visit to the peer so that Rafique would see exactly what is expected of him. Shafique’s business is surely going to suffer from this latest development but Rafique is too busy chasing after his Sabz Paree to be bothered about the consequences of his actions. Expecting Rafique to get a wake-up call anytime soon would be like waiting for a raindrop in the drought.

I find Rafique’s wife’s and Najma’s relationship to be very interesting, Najma is Rafique’s wife’s escape from reality but unlike Rafique, his wife has to pay a bigger price for what she does. No matter what she does she can never be the irresponsible person that Rafique is. Her ‘confrontation’ with Najma and the guilt pangs showed that Unlike Rafique she is not ‘blessed’ with a dead conscience. But i have a feeling that the two will be out and about soon enough! These two women are complete opposites but share amazing chemistry.

Anjay managed to play the hero today by getting Rafique’s daughter back home and scored points with Rafique’s wife, this may just be a new development in the story. Rafique and his wife hardly have any conversations and even if they do they are totally meaningless, the two of them are married and live in the same house but seems like they have no real relationship with each other and live in two different worlds.

On the other side, Milly seems to be turning into a very twisted character. She is set on making Arham’s life miserable and I see absolutely no reason for her wanting to do so. She was obviously trying to get back to her mother-in-law by doing what she did today but how can an intelligent girl like her not see that it is having more of an affect on her husband than his mother? Arham is being such a baby about it, surely he can put his foot down and do much better than shouting and walking out every time there is a confrontation between mom and Milli. Their story certainly seems to be going around in circles. I have seen this shouting and walking out scene way too many times in the past four episodes. The repetition is killing me; I am certainly not enjoying the same message being hammered in my head again and again. Well, thank God this time Arham did not resort to drugs but instead decided to beat up a transgender person instead! By the way do the Begum sahiba’s really listen to their maids the way it is shown in these dramas? Arham’s mother seems like a very outgoing woman, how come she does not have any friends to turn to when she needs to share things, why is Kareema (the maid) her only ally?

Today’s episode was on the slow side and I am hoping that the next episode will have something new to offer. Like I said in my last review, I really don’t see the side-track going anywhere; Rafique’s wife’s entry into Arham’s house may do the trick. Today’s episode had its highs and lows but the amazing performances are always a treat to watch and I am most certainly not giving up on this play anytime soon.
